6 DIY BTS Bracelet for ARMYs

You’ve probably spent hours watching BTS content, you know all the random facts about the members, and your Spotify Wrapped proves you’re in the top 0.1% of listeners. But does your wrist game reflect that dedication? If you’re still rocking a plain watch or, worse, nothing at all, we need to have a talk.

Store-bought merch is great (and let’s be honest, expensive), but there’s something special about making your own BTS bracelet. It’s like wearing a piece of your heart on your sleeve—literally. Plus, it’s a fun way to pass the time when you’re waiting for the next comeback announcement.

I’ve been making these for years, ever since I realized my growing collection of official merch was draining my bank account faster than a tour ticket sale. So grab your bead box and some string, because I’m about to walk you through six DIY BTS bracelet ideas that are so easy, even Jin’s cooking skills wouldn’t mess them up. 😉

1. The “Born Singer” Initial Bracelet

This one is for the purists. It’s simple, classy, and lets you rep your bias without screaming it from the rooftops. I made one of these for myself and ended up making four more for my friends. It’s addictive!

What You’ll Need

  • Small letter beads (the ones that look like they belong on a friendship bracelet from the 90s)
  • Elastic cord (I prefer stretchy for ease, but waxed cotton works too)
  • Scissors

How to Make It

First, figure out whose initials you want. Are you a die-hard Kim Seokjin fan? Go for J. Can’t choose just one? Spell out the whole group: B-T-S. It’s your bracelet, your rules.

  1. Cut a piece of elastic cord about 6-8 inches long. You want enough room to tie a knot without feeling like you’re performing surgery.
  2. Start stringing your beads. I like to put a plain silver or black bead between each initial for a little breathing room. It makes the letters pop more.
  3. Once you’re happy with the length, tie a tight double knot. Pro tip: Put a tiny drop of clear nail polish or glue on the knot. This stops it from coming undone when you’re reaching for your phone. Learned that one the hard way. :/
  4. Trim the excess string and tuck the knot inside one of the beads if you can.

Why it works: It’s understated. People might just think it’s a cute initial bracelet, but you know it represents the seven men who got you through 2020.

2. The “Map of the Soul” Word Bracelet

Ever wondered why words have so much power? Slapping a meaningful BTS song title or lyric on your wrist is a constant reminder of the message. It’s like a tiny, wearable therapy session.

Picking Your Phrase

You can go short and sweet or a little longer. Here are my personal favorites:

  • “Euphoria” – For when you need that burst of youthful energy.
  • “Mikrokosmos” – A reminder that we are all stars.
  • “Paradise” – Because it’s okay to stop running.
  • “You Never Walk Alone” – For the days when you need a hug from the fandom.

The Process

This is very similar to the initial bracelet, but you’ll need more beads.

  • Use spacer beads between words. Little gold or clear beads work wonders here.
  • If you’re using a thicker cord, make sure your letter bead holes are big enough. There’s nothing worse than getting halfway through and realizing your bead doesn’t fit. Frustrating, right?
  • String the beads in order. Lay them out on a towel first to make sure you have the spacing right.
  • Tie it off securely, just like before.

IMO, this style makes the best gift. It shows you put thought into picking a word that means something to them.

3. The “OT7” Member Stack

This one is for the people who refuse to choose a bias. I see you, and I respect the commitment. This isn’t one bracelet; it’s a stack of seven. But don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds.

Color Coding by Member

You’ll need seven different colors of embroidery floss or thin cord. If you don’t know the official colors, don’t stress. Use whatever feels right! But here’s the classic guide if you want to be “official”:

  1. RM: Navy Blue (represents leadership and depth)
  2. Jin: Pink (his favourite colour!)
  3. SUGA: Black or Dark Grey (mysterious and cool)
  4. j-hope: Yellow or Orange (sunshine personified)
  5. Jimin: Light Blue (soft and dreamy)
  6. V: Grey or Lavender (depending on the era, but grey is classic)
  7. Jungkook: Purple (obviously, “borahae”)

The “Lazy” Friendship Bracelet Method

I am not a fan of complicated knots. If you are, go ahead and make seven intricate friendship bracelets. But if you’re like me and have the patience of a toddler, do this:

  1. Cut a long piece of one color. Fold it in half.
  2. Twist the folded end to create a small loop.
  3. Tie a knot at the top to secure the loop, then braid the two strands together. Super simple.
  4. Tie a knot at the end.
  5. Repeat six more times.
Now you have seven simple, braided bracelets in each member’s color. Stack them all on your wrist. It looks intentional, it’s cozy, and it represents the whole group. Boom.

4. The “Muster” Charm Bracelet

This is where we get a little extra. A charm bracelet is like a scrapbook for your wrist. Every time you look at it, you remember a specific moment, song, or inside joke.

Sourcing Your Charms

You don’t need to buy expensive gold charms. Hit up a craft store or an online bead shop. Look for:

  • Microphone charms – For the incredible vocals.
  • Hearts – For love, obviously.
  • Tiny butterflies – “Butterfly” vibes, or just because they’re pretty.
  • Mini LP records – Represents the discography.
  • Small circles – Can represent the globe, or “The Globe” itself.
  • A tiny purple ribbon charm – For “borahae” (I purple you).

Assembly Instructions

  1. You’ll need a jump ring for each charm and a basic chain bracelet with a clasp.
  2. Open a jump ring by twisting it sideways with two pairs of pliers (or just your fingernails if you’re brave).
  3. Slide the charm onto the jump ring, then slide the jump ring onto a link on the chain.
  4. Close the jump ring by twisting it back. Make sure it’s fully closed so your charms don’t fall off in a taxi.
  5. Space them out evenly. You can also add plain beads in between the charms if you want it to look fuller.

Personal anecdote: I have a tiny tiger charm on mine for “Ego.” It’s my favorite conversation starter at the grocery store, believe it or not.

5. The “Dynamite” Retro Bead Bracelet

We have to pay homage to the song that broke the internet. This bracelet is all about fun, funky, retro vibes. Think less “minimalist” and more “disco fever.”

The Aesthetic

We’re talking big, chunky beads in bright colors. I’m talking about:

  • Pony beads in neon pink, yellow, and blue.
  • Glitter beads (the more sparkle, the better).
  • Flat disc beads in metallic gold and silver.

How to Channel Your Inner Disco Ball

This is a “no-rules” project.

  1. Grab a thick stretchy elastic cord. It needs to be thick enough to support the weight of the chunky beads.
  2. Just start stringing. Don’t think about it too much.
  3. Alternate between textures: a glitter bead, then a matte pony bead, then a metal disc. The chaos is the point.
  4. When you feel like it’s long enough, tie it off with a surgeon’s knot (it’s just a double knot where you wrap the string around twice before pulling tight).

This bracelet is loud, proud, and impossible to ignore. Just like the song itself.

6. The “Magic Shop” Personalized Birthstone Bracelet

This one is a little more sentimental. It incorporates the birthstones of the members. Even if you don’t know your garnet from your peridot, this is a beautiful way to carry the members with you.

Member Birthstones (Approximate)

Birthstones can vary by system, but this is a common and pretty list to use:

  • RM (September): Sapphire (deep blue)
  • Jin (December): Turquoise or Blue Topaz (bright blue)
  • SUGA (March): Aquamarine or Bloodstone (light blue/green or dark green)
  • j-hope (February): Amethyst (purple)
  • Jimin (October): Opal or Tourmaline (rainbow or pink)
  • V (December): Turquoise (again! use a different shade of blue)
  • Jungkook (September): Sapphire (same as RM! use a lighter/darker shade)

Making It Work

You don’t need to buy expensive gemstones. Just look for glass beads in these colors.

  1. String the beads in order of age (Jin to Jungkook) or alphabetically, or just randomly. I like going by age because it feels orderly.
  2. Use small silver spacer beads between each color so they don’t blend together visually.
  3. You can add a small charm at the end, like a tiny lock, to symbolize that your heart is locked to them.

It’s a subtle, elegant way to show your support. When people ask about the pretty colors, you get to tell them all about it. Win-win.

Wrapping This Up (Pun Intended)

So there you have it. Six ways to turn string and beads into wearable ARMY pride. Whether you’re making a stack for yourself or crafting gifts for your online friends, the most important thing is to have fun with it. Don’t stress if your first attempt looks a little lopsided. Mine definitely did.

Which one are you going to try first? Or better yet, do you have a BTS bracelet idea that I missed? I’m always looking for new projects, so drop your suggestions in the comments! Now go forth and create something awesome. Borahae! 💜
